YOU ARE INVITED! DETAILS BELOW...
Greetings! Spring is near and we have started to dig our way out from under all this snow. If you are like us, then you are ready to put this long cold winter behind you and get on with the rest this year has to offer. So, get on with it! We will be, starting Thursday, March 4th.
March 4th marks a noteworthy day in Dominic's career because it's the opening night of his first solo art exhibit. This is a very big deal to us and we would like to formally invite anyone, and everyone to attend. Doors open at 6pm at the 616 Gallery; its only 2 blocks from the shop. The address is 616 S. 11th St. Omaha. For more details check the Big Brain fan page on facebook. If you are unable to attend the opening night ceremonies, please show your support by visiting the gallery any time during the month and signing the guest book.
But thats not the only thing brewing...
We are hosting a "Spring Social Event" at a very well recognized art gallery here in the old market. If you are interested in modern/contemporary art and enjoy wine and cheese, this will be an event to remember. However, it is by invitation only and there are some minimum requirements. Email me through our web site if you want to go and I will be happy to discuss the details.
And lastly...
Dominic will be showing his paintings and illustrations at several other art galleries this summer including the Dixie Quick Gallery in October. Not all of the details have been ironed out yet but I will keep you posted. This year is all about the art. Art, art and more art!
You might be asking: "whats with all the art gallery stuff...I thought you did tattoos not paintings." Well...for those of you who don't know, many of the artists that work here are extremely accomplished sculptors, jewelry designers, illustrators, and painters. Most of them have formal educations in art, including college degrees. We are using this new year to reconnect with our artistic roots and find new sources of inspiration. It's a crucial part in staying creative and pushing ourselves to the next level artistically. We hope, as tattoo collectors, you will appreciate other art forms as much as we do.

Summer is here and I could not be more happy about it. This is the time when everything is running just the way we want it to...busy but relaxed. Spirits are high right now and we a ready to work so now is a good time to head down and see us.
On the personnel front: There are some new faces around here. Mike and Dave are new and will be around for customer service purposes because Jared left to spend a year in Spain. Tyler will also be leaving us soon to pursue other interests. Don't worry though...all the tattooers are still here and we don't have plans on changing that anytime soon. Many of them have come from very far away to work here and they really enjoy working with their clients here at Big Brain.
On the piercing front:We just restocked the body jewelry inventory with 5000 pieces of navel and tongue rings. There are some really cool pieces . Body jewelry has came a long way in the last couple years and there are some great examples in stock right now.
On the Relaxation front: We do have some much deserved time off scheduled. July 4th we are closed...Go America! Then... August 2,3,4 we are going to the Niobrara River for a tubing trip but we plan on leaving the store open for those days just running a short staff.
Well thats the news...Consider yourself updated. If there is anything you need just shoot down...we will be here.

Hello again everyone. Just wanted to drop in and make a few announcements.
If you are thinking about getting tattooed soon... nows the time.
We are glad to say that we are all caught up from our summer waiting list. During July we had over a thousand clients on our list. That is crazy, I know...I understand its inconvenient too; but we cant just hire anybody off the street to do this job. The artists at big brain are seven examples in only a small handful of artist that are talented enough to perform day-in-and-day-out at the level we demand...so replacing them with inferior artist just to get through the waiting list is not in our plan to serve you better. We place quality above quantity and we do not apologize for that. I'm just very thankful to have clients that feel its worth the wait and to have clients who understand how important it is to choose wisely when selecting a shop to put a permanent mark on your body.
Currently, our wait is only a few days for custom tattoos and even shorter for small stuff. We still have a couple artists that are booked for months but most tattooers are available much quicker during the fall. Fall is the time of year when we get to take our foot off the gas and get to some of the project we placed on the back burner during the busy summer months. Some of those projects include Dominic's art show at the 906 gallery, Bryan's blacksmithing and Matt is traveling abroad to tattoo in Scotland. Other events on the horizon include reconnecting with friends in the business. We will have several guest artist's visiting the store through the holidays. Lenny from Black 13 in Nashville will be here, Tanner from Built to Last in Jacksonville Florida, and the one and only Nick Kelly from Whole Shot in Detroit will also be joining us shortly...stay tuned for the exact dates.

GREAT NEWS!!! BIG BRAIN IS FEATURED IN THIS MONTHS SAVAGE MAGAZINE!!!
It's the cover story of the October issue; number 94. Please check it out it is very flattering.
Hello everyone. It's been a long time since I have sent out a newsletter. Please forgive me...summer is usually pretty busy around here and this summer was no exception. We added several thousand new clients to our family and for that I would like to say "THANKS". We are grateful to have such a great group of people to work on. It is a privilege and an honor to have such awesome clients.
Looking back over the last couple months we have accomplished a lot. We worked on getting our work published in international magazines...and we did almost 30 times. We worked on bringing new merchandise to the store...and we did. 6 new shirt designs, a messenger bag and our own private label drinking water. We committed to finishing the book we were in (It is almost a year behind schedule) and we did...it should be in stores for Christmas. We took a group vacation and all went to the Niobrara. And the biggest undertaking was the remodel. We refinished the floor, recovered the walls, added cool sinks in the bathrooms, changed the logo, got a new sign, added a waterfall and 9 flat screen T.V.'s. There are a couple loose ends that need tied up but that should happen pretty fast.
Looking forward... We plan on catching up on all the things we have put on the back burner during the busy summer. We plan to launch a new scheduling program that will send text message reminders, automatic emails and help us stay in contact with you better. We plan to have the book release party around Thanksgiving. We plan on working a customer appreciation event around Halloween. I'll keep you posted on the details of both. Otherwise, its just full speed ahead.

Big Brain will be closed Jan. 20th-Jan. 25 and we will reopen at noon on the 26th.
We are doing a major remodel which will include new flooring, new counter tops, a 200sq foot waterfall, and 10 plasmas. Sorry if it causes any inconvenience but we hope these changes help us serve you better. So...stop in and see whats new.
